Stays and transport: choose your base, then your arrival route

A cheaper hotel can mean a more expensive journey. Compare your arrival time, the places you plan to visit and the final leg with luggage before choosing a room or ticket.

Useful for: a first visit, a late arrival or a trip involving several cities.

01

Choose an area using three addresses

Put your arrival airport or station, your main sightseeing area and your departure station on a map. Compare neighborhoods that connect those places conveniently rather than relying on a “city center” label. Include stairs, walking distance and luggage in the final-leg decision.

02

Compare rooms on equal terms

Use the same dates, guest count, room type and breakfast requirement. Check the total with taxes, payment currency, deposit, cancellation deadline and its local time zone. Confirm twin beds, a non-smoking room or late check-in directly before booking; a request in the notes is not a confirmed arrangement.

03

Read the exact departure and arrival points

A city may have several airports or stations. Check the names on the ticket, travel date, local time, baggage rules, seats and whether you need to exchange a voucher or reserve separately. Allow time for immigration, luggage and transfers when buying separate tickets; do not treat separate orders as a protected connection.

04

Solve the final leg before a late arrival

Check the last transport departure and reception hours. If public transport will no longer work, compare an airport-area stay or an arranged transfer. Save the hotel address, booking and contact details offline rather than depending entirely on airport Wi-Fi.

Your final checklist

  • Compare totals for identical dates, guests and rooms
  • Check cancellation deadlines and non-refundable items
  • Confirm the airport, station and final-leg route
  • Get confirmation for late check-in or special requests
